This is Cinnamon's Page

She has been my friend for 6 years. She has loved me when I thought I couldn't love myself.
The least I can do is take the best possible care for her for the rest of her life.
To her I dedicate this virtual memorial!

I grew up with dogs. Usually pet quality purebred dogs ranging from Labrador Retrievers to Doberman Pinschers to Toy Poodles. In my family it always seemed sub-standard to own a mutt. How common can a person get? It wasn't until I had moved away from home that I had the opportunity to love and be loved by a pound puppy. Cinnamon came into my life in 1992. She was adopted from the Humane Society in Ft. Myers, Florida, a gift from my ex-husband (the only worthwhile thing that came from that relationship :o) ). All I knew about her at the time was that she was a one year old, Shepherd/Chow mix. I expected to find a big ball of fluff waiting for me at the pound, initially I was a little disappointed in her appearance. She was just a regular dog (she does however have a perfectly black tongue with absolutely no pink speckles...don't ask me why I'm so proud of that). I asked how she came to be at the pound and the attendant told me that she had run away several times and the last time she ran away, her previous owners told the Humane Society to just keep her. In retrospect, those were the stupidest people in the world and don't deserve to have a dog as fine as Cinnamon. In all my years of owning and loving dogs, Cinnamon is the dog that I judge all other dogs against. She is friendly, well-behaved, intelligent, protective, the list could go on.
